Registration
1. Participation and registration
To register for the conference, please visit the registration and payment platform.

1.1. What is the registration period and the participant fee?
Early-bird registration will be open from April 30 to July 6, 2025. Standard registration will run from July 7 until September 1, 2025. Registration for online attendance (listening only) will remain open until the start of the conference.
The registration fees are indicated in the table below and will cover coffee breaks on September 23 and 24, as well as a welcome reception after the keynote on September 22. Please note that lunch is not included, and the conference dinner must be reserved and paid for separately.
Online participation (listening only) will be possible, but presentations will be limited to in-person attendees. However, online participants are welcome to join the discussion and ask questions.

1.2. What is included in the registration fee?
On-site tickets include the welcome reception (after the keynote lecture by Alessandro Rippa) on Monday evening, September 22, in the Aula am Campus (Hof 1.11), at the University of Vienna Campus. On Tuesday and Wednesday (September 23 – 24), on-site attendees can give presentations, attend all sessions, and participate in conference activities. The on-site fee also covers conference materials and coffee breaks. Please note that lunch is not included, and the conference dinner must be reserved and paid for separately.
Online tickets provide access to listen to all presentations, including the keynote lecture on Monday, September 22. Please note that this option is for listening only; online participants cannot give presentations, but they are welcome to join the discussion and ask questions.
1.3. Are there different fees for online participation?
The fee for online participation is the same for all online attendees, with a discounted early-bird option available until July 6, 2025.
Please note once again that online participation is for listening only; presentations cannot be given remotely. However, online attendees can still engage in discussions and ask questions.
1.4. What does “regular” mean?
“Regular” refers to all participants who do not qualify for the early career or student categories. These participants must purchase a regular ticket.
2. Switching between onsite and online tickets
2.1. If I register to attend online and then decide to attend onsite, do I need to pay the difference to attend onsite?
Yes.
2.2. If I register to attend onsite and then attend online, will I be refunded the difference to the online price? If so, by when before the conference?
Yes, the difference will be reimbursed if you switch to online attendance until 31 July 2025. Changes from onsite to online participation are also possible after 31 July, but no reimbursement will be offered at that time.
2.3. Until when is it possible to switch between onsite to online?
A change from online to onsite participation is possible until registration closes on 1 September 2025). Signing up for online participation (for listening only, instead of onsite) is possible until 22 September 2025.
3. Photos and videos
Parts of the conference may be photographed. Images may be used to promote the 2025 international conference Beyond Infrastructure? (Un-)built Environments in the Anthropocene on the event website, as well as on the websites and social media channels of the ERC Advanced Grant InfraNorth project and the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna.
4. Cancellations and reimbursement policy
Cancellations received by July 6, 2025. are eligible for a full refund (100%). Cancellations received between July 7, 2025, and August 31, 2025, will be refunded at 50% of the registration fee.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made on or after September 1, 2025. Additionally, no refunds will be provided if you do not attend the event and have not cancelled within the specified timeframe.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the event management team of the University of Vienna via email at congress@univie.ac.at.
